Shaw Faces Career Uncertainty

Prithvi Shaw, once hailed as one of the most promising young talents in Indian cricket, is now grappling with mental challenges after being dropped from the national team across all three formats. His career trajectory has taken a downturn, and he finds himself on the fringes of selection uncertainty. Despite his recent signing with Northamptonshire in the County Championship, Shaw admits he is apprehensive about sharing his thoughts regarding his current international career situation.

Shaw Questions India Exclusion

During an interview with Cricbuzz, Prithvi Shaw, the opening batter for Delhi Capitals, opened up about his absence from the Indian team. He expressed his frustration at not receiving any clear reasons for his exclusion. Although some speculated it might be due to fitness concerns, Shaw clarified that he passed all fitness tests at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and performed well in domestic cricket to earn a potential comeback. Despite his efforts, he hasn’t been given the opportunities to prove himself. Shaw mentioned feeling disappointed but acknowledged the need to move forward and accept the situation. He expressed his resignation, stating that he couldn’t fight with anyone and can only focus on his own performance.

Shaw Discusses Mental Struggles

Opening up about his mental struggles, Prithvi Shaw, the star player of Delhi Capitals, revealed that he prefers to be in his own space and doesn’t like making many friends. He shared how people often talk about him, but only those who truly know him understand his nature. Shaw admitted that he faces a mental battle, especially as he feels reluctant to share his thoughts with others due to the fear of everything being exposed on social media. He expressed that nowadays, it’s daunting to share personal thoughts. He emphasized that he has very few friends, and even with them, he only shares a few things, keeping most of his thoughts to himself.
