India Targets 3-0 Sweep

Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women’s cricket team is determined to secure a 3-0 victory over Bangladesh in the final T20 International. Having comfortably won the first two matches, they are eager to maintain their winning streak.

India Seeks Batting Improvement

The team’s primary focus will be on improving their batting performance. Despite their victory in the second match, India faced challenges with their batting as they struggled to reach a modest total of 95 runs in their allotted 20 overs. As they take the field for the third game, the team understands that it won’t be an easy task to achieve another win. However, their previous success has given them confidence, and they will strive to replicate their earlier performances and secure a convincing victory to complete the sweep.

Indian bowlers lead the way as hosts are bowled out for 87, securing the series for India

With an impressive bowling performance, the Indian team bowled out the hosts for a mere 87 runs, establishing an insurmountable lead in the three-match series. Their excellent display with the ball ensured a commanding position for India.

The selectors will closely observe opener Shafali Verma, who has struggled in the series with two consecutive failures. Despite her 19 runs off 14 balls being the highest score during the team’s collapse, Verma recognizes the expectations placed upon her and eagerly seeks an opportunity to regain her form before the upcoming ODI matches starting on July 16.

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, a senior player in the team, will also be determined to make a significant contribution after being dismissed for a run-a-ball 13 in the previous match. The Indian openers, including Mandhana and Verma, have yet to synchronize their performances in the series, and they will be eager to seize another opportunity to make their mark in the upcoming match.

Similarly, Jemimah Rodrigues faced struggles in the middle and could only manage eight runs from 21 balls. She will be looking to bounce back and find her rhythm in the crucial upcoming game.

As the Indian team aims for a clean sweep, their batting unit will be determined to showcase their capabilities and deliver a strong performance collectively in the final match against Bangladesh.

While the batters had a forgettable performance in the previous match, skipper Harmanpreet is not dwelling on her first-ball duck and sees it as an exception rather than a trend.

On the other hand, the Indian bowlers enter the final T20I with high morale after defending a total of 96 runs. Deepti Sharma, Minnu Mani, and Shafali performed exceptionally well, bundling out the opposition in 20 overs. Despite Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana’s lone contribution of 38 runs off 55 balls, the Indian bowlers dominated.

The home team’s batters will be determined to redeem themselves and strive for a consolation win, although it seems challenging considering the all-round strength of the Indian team. The Bangladesh bowlers displayed commendable performance in the last match by restricting the Indian team, raising hopes for an improved showing.

The teams for the match are as follows:

India: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shefali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Harleen Deol, Devika Vaidya, Uma Chhetri (wk), Amanjot Kaur, S Meghna, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarwani , Monika Patel, Rashi Kanojia, Anusha Bareddi, Minnu Mani.
