According to JioCinema, former India captain and coach Anil Kumble lauded Ravichandran Ashwin’s exceptional skills, highlighting how he masterfully plays with the batsmen’s minds. Kumble emphasized that it’s not just about the technical abilities but also the art of transferring pressure onto the batters, which was evident in the body language of every batsman facing Ashwin.

On the statistical front, Ashwin’s splendid performance saw him surpass Harbhajan Singh to become the second-highest wicket-taker for India in international cricket. With an outstanding showing of 12 wickets in the match, comprising 5/60 in the first innings and 7/71 in the second innings, Ashwin now has 709 wickets in 271 international matches. Kumble also commended Ashwin’s ability to read the pitch accurately and adapt his bowling accordingly. The second Test between India and West Indies is scheduled to start on July 20.
