Bumrah Hints Imminent Return

Jasprit Bumrah gave a glimpse of his potential comeback to the Indian team by sharing a video of his net session on Instagram.

Jasprit Bumrah’s potential return to the Indian team has been eagerly anticipated by both the team and its fans. In a significant update, Bumrah took to Instagram to share pictures from his latest training session, hinting at his imminent comeback. The video featured Bumrah’s net session snapshots accompanied by the song ‘I’m Coming Home’ by Diddy-Dirty Money in the background. This exciting development has sparked hope among fans and reinforced recent reports suggesting that the seasoned pacer could be back in action for the tour of Ireland.

Bumrah Nears Comeback Tour

Jasprit Bumrah has been notably absent from the Indian team since his last appearance against Australia in September of the previous year. Initially, reports indicated that the 29-year-old might be fit and ready for the Asia Cup 2023. However, his impressive progress has accelerated, leading the team management to anticipate his inclusion for the upcoming tour of Ireland next month. In a significant update, Bumrah shared the video of his training session on Instagram and even tagged the Indian cricket team’s official account. This further fueled the excitement among fans and added to the anticipation of his much-awaited comeback.

Bumrah's Steady Injury Recovery

According to a report by PTI last month, Jasprit Bumrah had resumed bowling at the NCA and was gradually increasing his workload, showing signs of steady recovery. The nature of his injury required careful monitoring, and while no specific timeline was set for his return, he was making positive progress. The source revealed that Bumrah had bowled seven overs during his net sessions at NCA, indicating improvement from his initial light workouts and bowling sessions.

Bumrah's Cautious Comeback Plan

To aid his comeback, Bumrah was scheduled to participate in a few practice matches at NCA the following month. This approach would allow a close assessment of his fitness before considering him for competitive cricket. Ramji Srinivasan, the former strength and conditioning coach of Team India, advised against rushing Bumrah’s return. He suggested the pacer should be given ample time and match practice at the domestic level before making a comeback to top-level cricket. Ensuring his readiness and conditioning would be crucial to avoid any potential setbacks.
